Curated navigational map — not a census of inequality

Gender, Representation & Missing Knowledge: what happens when the record is incomplete?

This is an invitation to follow absences as evidence without pretending every absence has the same cause. Across Clyde Street, women can be missing from origin stories, archives, datasets, professional rooms, institutional programmes or public recognition. Elsewhere the problem is representational: who gets to speak, whose work is named, what a dataset can see, or what silence allows to pass as normal.

The rows ask where the gap is showing up. The columns ask what Keith does when he notices it: name it, search, check the source limits, make material public, repair a story, challenge a culture or institution, build another route — or leave the gap unresolved when the evidence does not warrant more.

Boundary: missing evidence is not proof that nobody was there; one omission is not prevalence; a newly recovered source does not make the archive complete; making women's sport visible in data does not demonstrate equity; and current representation does not repair historical exclusion by itself. The people, researchers and institutions whose work is encountered here retain ownership of their own work.

Absence is not an empty cell. It is something to inspect.

The full card will show what the source is about, why it sits in the exact crossing you chose, what evidential or ownership limit has to travel with it, and where you can go next.
